France will ban the development of cryptocurrency Libra in the European Union
Bruno Le Mar, the head of the economic and financial bloc of the government under President Emanuel Macron, made an categorical statement: the Libra cryptocurrency project should be stopped in 28 countries of the European Union. The influence of the French political class on the decisions of Brussels is traditionally high, especially when it comes to economic issues (Berlin plays the main violin in political topics). There is no doubt that Le Mar expressed a consolidated opinion, which currently prevails in the leadership of the European Union of States.
Le Mar has a complete understanding among a number of representatives of the American political class, including Member of Congress Maxine Waters. Curiously, France’s key economics and finance official made a statement just a day later, as David Marcus, head of the Calibra digital wallet development team for Libra, said that some positive changes had been made towards obtaining the necessary Libra approval from the Swiss financial regulator Libra
